Top 5 Scary Songs for Halloween

With Halloween just around the corner we asked the Stephen Arnold Music staff for some suggestions for scariest songs ever. Here’s some of the ones we came up with in no particular order.

Got some other suggestions? Let us know.

1. The Toadies “Possum Kingdom”

One of those songs that hides its unnerving subject behind a catchy riff.

2. Alice In Chains “Them Bones”

The tormented singer Layne Staley at his most tormented.

3. Black Sabbath “Black Sabbath”

Like an Edgar Allen Poe story set to music.

4. Rush “Witch Hunt”

Only Geddy Lee could pull off these lyrics.

5. Rolling Stones “Sympathy for the Devil”

The song is creepy enough, but this version of Altamont is all the more powerful.
